Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort
Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort
Stay and Play at the luxurious Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort, designed by Greg Norman, a multi-award winning golf course besides the Indian Ocean.
Set within a lush 103-hectare hideaway built on top of a sheer cliff, the Nirwana Bali Golf Club is situated in the tranquil village of Beraban, approximately 22km away from Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar and is part of the luxurious Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort. Bali Nirwana is a multi-award winning golf course designed by world-renowned golfer Greg Norman, in a unique and enchanting location on the Island of the Gods with breath-taking views of the Indian Ocean on several holes. The further inland one goes, several of the holes are surrounded by the Balinese traditionally farmed rice fields, which will be quick to swallow up your errand golf shots whilst creating a stunning visual backdrop to the golfer. This is one of the most exhilarating golf courses in Asia set against the dramatic back drop of the famous Tanah Lot Hindu temple; it’s a favourite of golfers from all over the world.
The Nirwana golf course is also known for its challenges as well as it natural beauty. The course combines a great test of golf with the natural flora and fauna of the island. The locally farmed tiered rice paddies still provide villagers with crops and economy and the Tanah Lot Hindu temple nearby offers the cultural and spiritual experience for visitors. The Tanah Lot temple is one of the most visited temples in Bali. There is also an abundance array of birdlife and animal life on site, with colourful native birds often sighted including the impressive Kokokan birds.
There are five genuine ocean side holes, three cliff-to-cliff tee shots (holes 7, 13 and 14) and eight holes cleverly sculpted into the local terraced rice fields. The Nirwana Golf Course is truly stunning. The signature hole would have to be hole 7, which overlooks the sea and the Tanah Lot temple and is one of the most photographed spots in Bali. Whether you are a beginner, a keen golfer or a seasoned single digit golfer, this diverse and meticulously maintained course with lush fairways and immaculate greens, a well stocked pro shop, practice chipping and putting areas and Golfers Terrace Bar and Grill never ceases to provide surprises. The local caddies are well trained and speak decent English, which compliments the lovely course, with their genuine Balinese friendliness and welcoming manner, they will do their best to ensure that every golfer completes their perfect round of golf.
Nirwana Bali offers several unique features, which help to explain why the course has gained so many awards of the years including:
- Best Signature Golf Course by Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards 2012-2104

The presence of the rice fields, a large proportion of which are incorporated as rough or hazards, is truly an outstanding and unique feature of this 18-hole par 72, golf course designed by major winner Greg Norman.
Each and every one of the 18 holes presents the golfer with a unique challenge. Holes 7, 13 and 14 will test the golfers courage and accuracy with cliff-to-cliff tee shots over the Indian Ocean. These dramatic holes will require you to focus inward on your golf game and technique and not externally at the beautiful views, if you want to pass the holes without a few lost balls and a tarnished scorecard. The Signature hole 7 is particularly dramatic with the nearby temple, creating one of the most sought after and visually breath-taking panoramic photos in Bali today. The site also has a number of attractive creeks, which flow year round. In many places the borders of these creeks are formed from rock, which adds to their appeal. There are not many locations in the world where such dramatic cliff-top land has been allocated for golf holes.
“Every golf course designer dreams of the perfect landscape to
fashion into a beautiful and challenging course. When I first saw the
site for the Nirwana Bali Golf Club, I was immediately taken by its
dramatic location along the cliff-tops, the fascinating local culture
and the rolling hills covered with rice paddies. While keeping the
land’s natural features, we have created here some of the most dramatic
holes in golf.”
